Bathroom Vanity

This vanity was custom designed to fit the space of a bathroom in a cabin. It is made from solid Knotty Alderwood with stainless steel hardware and felted leg bottoms to prevent scratching. Finished with Rubio Monocoat Oil and then buffed. The knotty alder that was used featured some nice figure as can be seen from the horizontal stretchers in the photos. The finish that was used leaves a super smooth texture that still allows the wood grain to be felt instead of it having a film finish while still being very water resistant.

Mortise and tenon joinery was used alongside dowel joinery in this piece for a durable piece of furniture with no visible screws or nails. The top is attached with bolts into threaded inserts and wood movement was taken into account to ensure no cracking or splitting during seasonal change.
